1952

The foundations of Gülman Group were laid by Kemal Gülman with the import company he founded in a flat on Çilingir Street, which was equally the address of the house where he was born. In the company's founding statement, it was written that it was engaged in 'various import business and agency'. The first import registered under the name of the company was brass printing supplies brought for the printing houses of major newspapers in İstanbul.

1957

Kemal Gülman Company, which moved its headquarters to Prevuayans Building, Tahtakale, became over time the largest importer of many products needed in the market, such as paper and all paper products and lined notebooks.

1959

Kemal Gülman, who went abroad for the first time, returned from Germany as the official distributor of different products of brands such as Bayer, Degussa and Kaneka.

1960

Gülman Group focused on the chemical industry, starting with aniline imports. It became a supplier of raw materials and products for many related sectors, especially plastic and leather. At the same time, Gülman was one of the most active businessmen in the market, supplying many necessary products from abroad, such as pumps for the fuel industry and ballast for the lighting industry.

1964

Company headquarters moved to Saadet Building, Cağaloğlu.

1965

Gülman became an investor for the first time by becoming a partner in a company operating in the pharmaceutical industry.

1971

Kemal Gülman went to Israel and started his activities in the construction domain. He took an active role as a manager and investor in the construction of luxury housing estates and residences in the newly initiated urbanization process in Tel Aviv and its surroundings.

1973

Kemal Gülman made his first trip to China and far eastern countries, and in collaboration with his partners, he imported one million pairs of sports shoes.

1975

Gülman Group started to grow through partnerships. Gülman became a partner in Derby Plastic, which was taken over by Berç Büyüksakayan. He took part in the company's linoleum production, which was in great demand especially in Anatolia.

As a partner in Vatan Plastic, he took part as both an importer and an industrialist in the production process of foam mattresses newly introduced in Turkey.

He also got involved in the packaging industry as a partner in Rotapak, which was founded by Mike Acemyan and Yakup Tahincioğlu.

As the agent of Kane-ACE, Gülman Chemistry Group was established, and it dealt with the trade of primarily nitrocellulose, titanium, caustic, alcohol, aniline and other chemical products.

The main raw material of stretch films used in kitchens was first imported by Gülman Group.

By importing pneumatic tools, lathe machines and manual tools from abroad, Gülman became the largest importer for the wholesalers in Perşembe Market.
